LC/MS is a technique, which combines the separation capabilities of HPLC, with the detection power of mass spectrometry. Even with the MS instrument , HPLC is used to remove or separate interference from the sample that could impact the ionization process. The ChEMTox lab Micromass Mass spectrometer is coupled to a Water 2695 HPLC system separations module and photodiode array. This system has high sensitivity and enhanced resolution for ion scanning experiments.
